Choose a calm moment and first ask whether now is a good time. Either person may need a break. Understanding does not require one person to solve everything.

A specific example: “When I wake often at night, I have less energy the next day.” Describe your experience without assuming the other person’s intentions.

For example, listening, sharing a task, uninterrupted rest or affection without expectations. Offer advice only if it is wanted.

The other person summarises in their own words and asks: “Have I understood you correctly?” Differences do not have to disappear.

Who will do what, and by when? One manageable change is enough to start.

Arrange a brief check-in. Intimacy and sex require mutual consent; nobody owes a particular response.
