Start with services you actually pay for
Fictional example: Julia suspects she pays for two music subscriptions. She opens existing invoices and the subscription pages of her accounts. One belongs to a family plan and the other to an old individual account. She records both before deleting anything.
Begin with a few familiar services. A private note or table needs the name, purpose, responsible person, amount, currency, billing cycle and verified management route. Do not include full payment details. Label missing information as unresolved instead of estimating contract dates or prices from memory.
Separate usage from billing
The app on your phone is not necessarily the organisation billing you. A subscription may have been purchased directly, through an app store or through another provider. Check the genuine receipt and the account actually used to establish the purchase route.
Apple and Google explain their own management processes in official help. A missing entry may mean another account or billing company is involved. Avoid random cancellation portals that demand extra personal information or fees before they claim to search for your contract.
Compare costs without changing their meaning
Record the real payment interval. Dividing an annual price by twelve gives a comparison figure, not the right to pay or cancel monthly. For a trial, record the displayed end date and the conditions governing what happens afterwards.
For shared services, ask about actual needs. Storage may hold family photographs; a learning app may be required for a current course. Low use does not settle the decision for everyone. Agree who may make changes and who needs to be informed first.
Make changes through the correct route
To end a subscription, open the verified management area and read the stated consequences. Google explicitly notes that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription. Account deletion, subscription cancellation and exporting data are also different tasks that need separate consideration.
Keep confirmation and the displayed end date securely. Pausing may include an automatic restart later. Refunds, remaining access and special deadlines depend on the contract and applicable law. This organisational guide therefore cannot replace individual contractual or legal advice.
Keep the overview small and current
After confirmation, Julia records the new status and a date to check the next invoice. She does not remove working family access before an alternative is established. Her list continues to hold management information, not a shared collection of login secrets.
Review when a new subscription starts, a price changes or your chosen recurring reminder occurs. Treat an unfamiliar charge as a separate question for the payment provider. The overview supports decisions but cannot guarantee completeness or a particular saving.

Common questions
Must I connect my bank to a new app?
No. Existing invoices and official account pages are sufficient for a simple overview. An additional banking connection is not required.
Why is the subscription missing from my app store?
A different account or billing provider may have been used. Check the genuine invoice and reach the named provider through a verified contact route.
Does deleting the app end the subscription?
Not automatically. Google Play explicitly distinguishes those actions. Use the responsible cancellation process and check its confirmation and effective end date.
