A video promises fewer side effects, a longer-lasting pen or lower monthly costs through a few carefully counted clicks. The suggestion sounds practical, but it changes how a prescription medicine is used. Without clear instructions for your exact product, a seemingly minor adjustment can become an administration error. The concern behind wanting a change deserves professional attention.

Why a chart cannot fit every pen
Medicines differ in ingredient, concentration, strength and device design. A similar-looking pen may work differently. A chart might also refer to another country's presentation, a different model or outdated information. A short video often does not make these differences visible.
The current EU instructions for Wegovy FlexTouch explicitly advise against setting the dose by counting clicks. What matters is the instruction for the product actually supplied and your prescribed use. A large number of views does not confirm that a video matches either.
Microdosing does not describe one established plan
On social media, microdosing may mean different amounts, different intervals or splitting an administration. Without a precise definition, even the claim is difficult to evaluate. The word itself establishes neither proven effectiveness nor improved tolerability.
This does not mean a clinician cannot make an individual treatment adjustment. Such a decision takes account of symptoms, other medicines and the particular product. Someone else's personal account lacks that information and cannot replace an individual prescription.
Leftover liquid is not a supply for experiments
Visible liquid does not automatically mean another appropriate dose is available. The EU Mounjaro KwikPen instructions warn against injecting leftover medicine or transferring medicine from the pen into a syringe. The specific product instructions explain how that device should be handled.
Sharing is not a safe saving strategy either. A Mounjaro KwikPen must not be shared with another person even after changing the needle. A fresh needle does not make a shared pen safe. Storage and disposal also need to follow the relevant product instructions.
Discuss the real reason for wanting a change
Is the issue nausea, concern about increasing treatment, availability or cost? Write down the main concern and the timing of any symptoms. This helps the clinician assess medically appropriate options instead of responding only after an improvised change has been made.
For handling difficulties, ask for another demonstration using the correct device. Say clearly if markings are difficult to see or operating the pen is physically difficult. Understandable assistance is part of safe treatment, not evidence that you are incapable. You can ask questions even if you have used the medicine before.
If you have already used it differently
Have the product name, strength, timing and what you actually did ready. If you do not know the amount delivered, explain that uncertainty honestly. Do not attempt to balance it out with another administration or an online calculation. Contact your treating service or a pharmacist promptly for next steps.
A suspected overdose requires immediate medical advice. Severe persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting with difficulty drinking, altered consciousness or breathing problems need urgent medical assessment. In an acute situation, do not wait for a reply beneath a video.
Prepare a clear question
- Identify the exact product and why you want to change its use.
- Bring the packaging, instructions and the relevant post if useful.
- Ask for a clear explanation of the agreed plan and repeat it in your own words.
Common questions
Can choosing a smaller amount myself only reduce the effect?
It cannot be assumed that simply. Uncertain quantities, changed intervals and device errors complicate assessment of both benefits and risks. Changes belong within professional care.
Can I bring a click chart to an appointment?
Yes. Show what you saw and explain what you hoped to achieve. Discussing it openly is more useful than hiding an experiment because you fear criticism.
